You can run sap13ns on your own server; it is open source and always will be. If you would rather not think about servers, we host it for you on sap13ns.site, on the same software we publish.

Two kinds of site
Personal sites — free
For a blog, a portfolio, a CV, notes from a hobby or a family site. Personal sites are free, with one condition: they must be non-commercial. That means no shop, no paid services, no advertising and no promotion of a business.
Every new personal site is checked by a person before it goes public. We look at what the site is for, not at what you write about. Usually this is quick; if we have questions, we write to you. We may refuse a site, or ask you to move to a commercial plan, when it is clearly commercial.
Commercial sites — paid
For companies, freelancers, shops, newsletters with sponsors, client projects and anything else that makes money or promotes a business. Commercial plans are billed monthly or yearly, as you choose, through Stripe, and you can cancel at any time.
Included in every plan
- HTTPS certificates, issued and renewed automatically.
- Updates to new sap13ns versions, applied by us.
- Nightly backups of each site, which you download and restore from your admin, and you can export your own copy at any time.
- All six themes, with light and dark modes.
- The Markdown editor, translations, feeds, comments, the WordPress importer and the export.
- Cookie-less statistics, with no consent banner needed.
- One account for all your sites.
Commercial plans (Pro and Business) add your own domain and let you upload your own themes and plugins. Themes you upload are checked automatically against strict security rules and refused unless they pass every check; nobody reviews them by hand. Plugins you upload are reviewed by us before they can be switched on, and the approval is pinned to the exact build we reviewed and the permissions it asks for. Personal sites choose from the themes and plugins we offer to every site.
Leaving is easy
Your content is yours. You can export it at any time while your site exists, from its administration, as a WordPress-compatible file or as a .zip with your media and a Markdown copy of every post and page, and move it to your own sap13ns server, to another host, or anywhere else. Since sap13ns is open source, the export works with the same software you would run yourself.
Every backup of your site is also a WordPress import. Download one from Tools → Backups, and WordPress's own importer reads it, files included (how).
FAQ
What counts as commercial?
A site that sells something, advertises, collects payments or exists to promote a company or a professional service. A personal blog where you sometimes mention your job is fine. A portfolio that is your business's website is commercial. When in doubt, ask us before you sign up.
Why do free sites need validation?
Free hosting attracts spam, phishing and copied content. A short human check keeps the platform clean for everyone and protects the reputation of every site's address.
Can I start free and upgrade later?
Yes. You can move a personal site to a commercial plan at any time, and keep its content, settings and address.
How do payments work?
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. You get an invoice for every charge.
What happens when I cancel?
Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that the site is held: visitors see a notice that it is paused and unavailable, but you can still sign in, download a backup, export your content or subscribe again. We keep it for 90 days, and then our team deletes it.
Can I use my own theme or plugin?
On commercial plans, yes. Themes you upload are checked automatically against strict security rules (no scripts, no external forms, bounded rendering) and refused unless they pass; nobody reviews them by hand. Plugins run in the WebAssembly sandbox and are reviewed by us before they can be enabled. Personal sites use the themes and plugins we offer to every site.
Who is responsible for my data?
BAUBER.XYZ SL, a company based in Barcelona, Spain. Your data is handled under the GDPR, and the privacy policy explains what we keep, why and for how long.
Do you show ads on my site?
No. We do not add advertising, trackers or third-party scripts to hosted sites. The only addition is the small "Powered by sap13ns" credit in the footer.
Read the terms of service and the privacy policy before you sign up.
